I'm a little late posting as I traveled from DC to Denver today. Have my pics now and am ready to reveal my creations. I received my bead soup from Denielle Hagerman of Some Beads and Other Things blog. The soup that Denielle sent is delicate and spring-like with flower and polka dot beads, crystals and pearlescent beads with a silver toggle clasp. A garden theme.
And here's the necklace I created with the focal. I tried a technique I hadn't used in a while - micro-macrame. I used an ombre thread for the macrame and some green glass beads to make the necklace. A tassel completes the look.
Then I created a bracelet. I love this look.
Thanks to Lori Anderson for hosting the blog party. You can see links for all of the creations here.

ReplyDeleteThis is right up my alley-love the garden theme and your creation is wonderful! Great job!
ReplyDeleteReally like your jewelry, especially the bracelet. What kind of thread do you use for your macrame?
ReplyDeleteDenise, I used a 100% nylon thread - #2 Artiste from Hobby Lobby. C-Lon is comparable.

ReplyDeletelove how well the stringing materials matched the beads... very harmonious necklace
ReplyDeleteThe micro macrame was the perfect choice for these beads -- delicate enough not to overwhelm the sweet lampwork focal, but enough texture to make it really interesting and pretty. Great job!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great set. Beautiful job with your soup!
ReplyDeleteLove macrame! That was such a great way to accent the pretty focal!
ReplyDeleteYour designs are beautiful. Good job using your soup.
ReplyDeleteSo admire your macrame skills, both pieces are lovely!
ReplyDeleteStill winding my way through the first reveal. Both of your pieces are lovely! I really like how you stayed with the color theme of the Soup. The colors don't demand immediate attention, but lure you in to their richness and depth and you made GREAT use of the beads.
ReplyDeleteThose are so pretty and spring-like! I have a book on micro macrame and am hoping to learn more than the two stitches I know.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for doing this!
Wow - I've never tried macrame, but I'm so impressed whenever I see it in use! Great pieces!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteBoth pieces are lovely. Really like how you tied them together with cord in the bracelet fringe and the tassel on the necklace.
ReplyDeleteLove how you use the macrame. Makes the whole piece look clean so that the focal becomes the focus.
ReplyDeleteAh, mico macrame. . . how you elude me. Your skill at it is to be admired as it looks great! Wonderful pieces.
