#29Faces - #29 of 29 Whew! Challenge Completed

#29Faces, #28 of 29 in the 29Faces Art Challenge hosted by Ayala Art. Wow! This was an intense but fun challenge. Complete 29 faces in 29 days. Done! So glad I made it all the way through. It was very inspiring to see the work of the other artists in the challenge. Here's my final face.

#29Faces - #24 of 29 Wearable Art Tote Bag

#29Faces, #24 of 29 in the 29Faces Art Challenge hosted by Ayala Art. As a wearable artist I'm always on the lookout for ideas for converting my art work into something wearable. I had this very inexpensive ($5) polyester felt bag from Target. It's a thick felt with vinyl handles. The heathered gray felt has a lot of texture and was a great neutral background. This bag was just waiting for some artistic treatment. I loved #23, the girl with flowers drawing which I had watercolored.  I had done the face first and then decided she needed some flowers in her hair so I drew a variety of flowers which I also watercolored and added to the face.  I did a simple image transfer on this bag and am thrilled with the results!!  I may not be finished yet, I think it may need some embellishment to highlight some of the details.

29Faces Challenge - #1

I'm excited to participate in the 29Faces Art Challenge hosted by Ayala Art.  We're to create 29 faces to improve our drawing, painting and art making using faces.  I've been wanting to draw more so this challenge is perfect!  I'll be trying out lots of styles and expressions as well as doing studies on how to draw noses, lips, eyes and other facial features.  It's also a good way to learn to paint faces.  Here's #1 of 29.

Guy Card Collaboration - Turn it Up to 11 Dad - Guitar Themed Cards

Hi All, It's always fun to reach out and explore new art expressions. Trying new things keeps you fresh and you'll almost always learn something that can be incorporated into your artwork. I'm branching out to try card making by participating in a collaboration video HOP on YouTube that will have a contest that YOU can enter to win one of three prize packages. We have put together quite the group of YouTubers to inspire your Guy themed cards!

There will be 26 videos starting May 23rd through June 5th. We will do this hop style, so you will watch the first video on Maymay Made It's Channel then you will hop to the others using the description box  for links to all 26 creators.

This video hop has three fabulous prize packages available.  All you have to do is watch each video for the name of a tool from their dad's tool box.  Each creator has a letter in the alphabet for their tool.  Collect all 26 and see Gareth's video on the last day for details on how to enter the contest.  Open internationally to persons 18 years and over.  My letter is W for WRENCH.

Go ahead and subscribe to all these wonderful channels!  Hope you enjoy this video hop.

Dollar Store Facial Brush Hack

Dollar store hack.  Use a dollar store facial brush in your art studio.  All the scrapbookers, card makers and mixed media artists, take a look at how I'm using this facial brush to apply ink shading to a card.  I love the look of inked edges but didn't want to pay the relatively high price of the felt and velcro ones you can find in the craft stores.  These facial brushes apply the ink perfectly and smoothly at a low cost.  You can have several for different colors.  Love this dollar store hack.  Hope you do as well.
